In an exciting move towards sustainable energy solutions, our new Biogas Plant & Composting facility in Steinach, St. Gallen Canton, Switzerland, is setting a new standard in renewable energy and environmental stewardship.

Operational since 2023, this facility is not just a project but a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability, exclusively utilizing waste and residual materials, ensuring a zero-waste approach to biogas production.

A Leap Towards Climate-Neutral Future

Our plant is one of the few compact solutions for dry digestion on the market, specifically designed to process dry and stackable feedstocks efficiently. This not only allows for the sustainable handling of local waste streams but also showcases the robustness of proven technologies that have been successfully converting waste into energy for years.

Annually, we convert 4,000 tons of green waste into 345,000 Nm³ of biogas, generating 64 kW of electricity and 95 kW of thermal energy. This substantial output powers up 400 homes with clean, renewable energy, demonstrating our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint and enhancing community energy independence.

Championing Sustainability

Beyond energy production, our facility plays a pivotal role in environmental conservation, compensating for 450 tons of CO2 emissions yearly. The high-quality compost produced enriches local agriculture, promoting sustainable growth and healthier soils. By focusing on local waste streams, we emphasize the importance of closed material cycles and nutrient cycles, essential for ecological balance and soil fertility.

Swiss Biogas Plant Clients

In line with Switzerland’s push towards renewable energy, the Swiss government has introduced a 50% investment subsidy for biogas plants under the Energy Promotion Ordinance (EnFV). This significant incentive marks an ideal time for investors and operators to venture into biogas energy production, combining financial viability with environmental sustainability.

This subsidy not only makes biogas projects more attractive, but also aligns with our efforts to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy supply. We encourage our Swiss clients to leverage this unparalleled support to invest in renewable energy, contributing to a greener future.

Join Us in Building a Sustainable Future

As we celebrate the success of the Steinach Biogas Plant, we are reminded of the power of community, innovation, and sustainability working hand in hand. This facility is not just about producing energy; it’s about creating a sustainable ecosystem that benefits everyone.

We invite you to join us on this journey towards a greener, more sustainable world. Together, we can make a difference, one step at a time.
